Welcome to India!

Your driver will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. Start exploring the Indian capital right away. You can use a taxi or tuk-tuk to visit the southern part of the city, where you'll find impressive Mughal architecture. Walk through the gardens of Humayun's Tomb and see the Qutub Minar, the tallest minaret in India. On your way back, stop by the Lotus Temple, known for its unique modern design. Return to your hotel for your first night in India.
This morning, your driver will take you to the airport for your flight to Bagdogra in West Bengal. When you arrive, a local guide will meet you and drive you to Darjeeling. As you travel through the tea plantations, you'll see beautiful green mountain views. Darjeeling tea is famous around the world. In the 19th century, Darjeeling was the British Empire's summer retreat, and it still has a "British" feel with its colonial-style houses.
After breakfast, you'll take a ride on the Toy Train, a UNESCO World Heritage steam train, to the Ghoom Monastery. Then, explore the busy bazaar in Darjeeling. Next, head to the countryside where you'll stay for two nights at a tea farm. You'll meet the team who practices sustainable and organic farming with permaculture techniques.
You’ll spend the day learning about local culture and the lives of tea producers in the Darjeeling mountains. Meet people and see the organic farming projects at the cooperative. For lunch, visit a farm run by a local community that supports women and fair trade. Tour the organic gardens and return to your eco-lodge. In the evening, cook dinner with your hosts and learn about local food.
Today, you’ll leave your hosts and visit the village school to meet the students and their teacher. Then, head to the village of Yangkoo for lunch and to explore more local projects. Your guide will take you to another garden run by a local community that welcomes visitors. The Samabeong tea producers will explain their tea cultivation and sustainable farming project. Spend the night at the eco-lodge.
Your local guide will take you to meet organic tea producers. You’ll assist in tea leaf picking and then tour the tea factory. Learn about the production process, including drying, rolling, fermentation, and sorting, and discover how Darjeeling tea is made. Enjoy a tea tasting to experience the different flavors. Have a picnic by the river and visit the Subarna cooperative, where tea is grown using permaculture in a forest. Return to your eco-lodge.
This morning, you'll leave the peaceful tea plantations around Darjeeling and drive to Siliguri. On the way, stop at the Lava Monastery, an important Buddhist site. Then, fly from Bagdogra to Kolkata. Your driver will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. Explore the colonial buildings in Kolkata and enjoy Bengali dishes for dinner.
